You are probably here saying to yourself “She will talk of tuning again” but no. I’m here to cover all the info I know and every question people have about this car. This time this post is all about where can you find the best Mazdaspeed 6 OEM* parts.
*When referring to auto parts, OEM refers to the manufacturer of the original equipment, that is, the parts assembled and installed during the construction of a new vehicle. In contrast, aftermarket parts are those made by companies other than the OEM, that might be installed as replacements after the car comes out of the factory.
As I was saying in my post about performance parts (you can read it Here), sometimes we are looking for parts in particular and it is not always easy because the MS6 is not the most popular car. Even if the Mazdaspeed 6 is built on the same frame as the Mazda 6 they are 2 totally different car. Almost every part of the engine, the drivetrain and the body are different so you have to be very careful when you buy replacement parts.
Here are some important things you need to know:
It is very important to make sure that every time you look at a part it is NOT for the standard Mazda 6. For example, if you buy brake rotor for a Mazda 6 instead of a Mazdaspeed 6 they will not fit. They are not the same size and they don’t fit on the hub. I know it already happens to me before and it is really annoying.
Make sure to take the time to read the description of the parts you’re about to buy. For example look at these two descriptions. Take a minute to look at the description.
2006 – 2007 MAZDA 6 exc MAZDASPEED 6 Front and Rear Brake Pads and Brake Rotors OEM Replacement Direct Fit Brake Kit
2006 – 2007 MAZDA MAZDASPEED 6 MAZDASPEED 6 Front and Rear Brake Pads and Brake Rotors OEM Replacement Direct Fit Brake Kit
Did you find the one that is correct to buy for the MS6? The descriptions are about identical that it is really easy to made a mistake but if you said the second one you are right. In the first one you can see Mazda 6 “exc” Mazdaspeed 6 that means “except” or “excluding”. It is a term commonly used in parts descriptions but you have to look closely and sometimes read it twice.
You can also have Turbo in the description like this one.
2006 – 2007 Mazda 6 Mazdaspeed 2.3L Turbo Models ONLY ! 320mm Front + 314mm Rear Cross Drilled and Slotted Sport Brake Rotors + Performance Ceramic Pad Package
If it says turbo you know this is for the MS6 but if it says 2.3L and there is no mention of turbo there is chance that this is for a standard Mazda 6 2.3L.
There is a lot of names for that car depend on the country. It can change a lot depending on which website you are looking to buy your parts so it is important to know them all.
North America: Mazdaspeed6, Mazda6 Speed, MS6, Speed6
Japan: Mazdaspeed Atenza, Atenza MPS, Atenza GG3p
Europe, Australia & South Africa: Mazda6 MPS
It is a lot of trial and error for mass of customers but it is a lot easier when you can read a review about the product of your choice online. It is even better if you can buy from a trusty website that as an online customer service at your disposal at any hour of the day or of the night.

What a great website for Mazda lovers, and I one of them 🙂
I love this post it helped me so much on the part that I need for my car.
Thanks for the help.
I’m glad that you found the information you need. Thank you for your comment 🙂
Good to point out the potential pitfalls of ending up with the wrong parts if one doesn’t pay attention. I used to won a Mazda van and liked it a lot. If I had the car you are talking about, I would definitely look at your instructions for finding the right parts. Thanks!
Even if you don’t own that car it can happen and I’m sure you will pay more attention now than before. Thanks for your time 🙂
I really enjoyed the purpose of the article. Not only does it really helps when buying car parts but also for when you buy anything. I believe like you do that it is crucial to read the product name carefully. I myself too made buying mistakes by not reading carefully the description.
And seriously I am the last person who would’ve have thought that amazon sell car parts. They truly sell anything now lol. That’s very useful to know for people who wants to buy car parts without paying too much.
Yes we never know sometimes we want to go too fast and that’s where the mistake happen. Amazon sells really good products now and it is very diversified even if they don’t have necessarily everything specific. Thanks for passing by 🙂
Hey Great Site! I have been looking into buying a Mazda. I think they are pretty sweet looking but some of my friends say they’re girl cars.. Do you have an argument for me to support my case? I think the Mazda 6 is sweet but now that I have read your article about the Mazdaspeed 6, I am more interested in that. It is good to know that they’re are two completely different sets of OEM parts, one for each vehicle. Is it easy to return parts if I buy the wrong parts by accident?
I don’t think this is a girl car more than another model maybe they say that because it is a refined car. For the parts sure you can return them with no problem especially if you live and buy from the same country. Normally you would have to pay the shipping but some of them will refund it to you when they receive the package. Hope it answer your question. Thanks for passing by 🙂
This is awesome and great for Mazdaspeed 6 enthusiasts. Very specific and well targeted people. Do you make articles for other car brands or just sticking with Mazda. I have a Nissan GT-R and a Mitsubishi Evolution X and finding OEM parts is hard d/t very very high prices. Would be visiting this your site more often.
Yes unfortunately for you this site is only for the Mazdaspeed 6 but I will consider doing another one on another platform since I like the GTR and the Evo a lot it could be a great subject. Thanks for your idea and your comment 🙂
